While traversing the mountainous terrain, blue penguins, wekas, oyster catchers, wood pigeons and other rare birds can all be seen.

The NZ eTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authorisation) is an electronic travel authorisation which was launched by the Immigration Agency, Government of New Zealand after July 2019. It is obligatory for citizens of all 60 visa waiver countries to obtain New Zealand eTA visa, and all cruise travelers, by October 2019.
